The first destination is the Potala Palace, the world’s highest palatial building. It was built by Songtsen Gampo in the seventh century to marry Princess Wencheng. The whole palace shows a distinct Tibetan style.
Drive through the prairie in Northern Tibet to enjoy colorful prayer flags flying. Gallop on Qinghai-Tibet Highway, and tramp over Nagenla Mountain, which is 5,190 meters above sea level, to see “heavenly lake” Namtso, chief among the three holy lakes in Tibet.
